Sergey MAVRIN

Vice-President of the Constitutional Court

Sergey Mavrin was born on 15 September 1951 in Bryansk.
Graduated from the Leningrad State University Faculty of Law. Upon graduation Mr Mavrin taught and conducted research. Headed the Labour Law and Workplace Security chair at the St.Petersburg State University.
In 1996-2006 Sergey Mavrin served on the Committee of experts on application of the Conventions and Recommendations of the International Labour Organisation (ILO).
Has authored numerous scientific articles and publications in the field of labour law.
Doctor of Science in Law, professor.
Lawyer Emeritus of the Russian Federation, Honoured Scientist of the Russian Federation.
A Judge of the Constitutional Court since February 2005. 
In 2009 he was appointed by the Council of the Federation for six-year term to hold the position of the Vice-President of the Constitutional Court. In 2015 he reappointed for another six-year term.
