Nikolay VEDERNIKOV


Nikolay Vedernikov was born in 1934 in the town of Anzhero-Sudzhensk in Kemerovo region (Western Siberia).
In 1957 he had graduated from Tomsk State University Faculty of Law. Since 1959 Vedernikov had been teaching at the university.
In 1990 he was elected people’s deputy of Russia. Chaired the Pardons Commission of the Presidency of the Supreme Council of Russia. Vedernikov was a member of the Constitutional Commission, which drafted the Constitution of the Russian Federation. Has participated in drafting the Federal Constitutional Law On the Constitutional Court.
Has authored two monographs and over 80 scientific publications.
Served as a Judge of the Constitutional Court from October 30, 1991 to February 16, 2000.
Doctor of Science in Law, Professor.
Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation. Lawyer Emeritus of the Russian Federation.
